WW: Halloween Decorations

on September 26, 2012

Hello Parents,

Hope everyone is having a great week. We’ve had a busy birthday week with celebrations for Gloribel, our Toddler II teacher, and Patricia, our Infants caregiver. Now we are already thinking of the weekend and Halloween next month! If you haven’t already noticed, Halloween decorations are everywhere; but we thought, wouldn’t it be nice to get things started with art made by the kids. Of course it would!

Scouring the idea pages of the Internet, we came across this very cute pair of canvas frames that can be so easy and fun for you to do with your kids, can even do them for the whole family. We found them on the Pottery Barn Kids Pinterest Trick or Treat board, linked from Southern Fried Dreams blog.

Materials:
2 – 8×8 canvas frames
Orange acrylic paint
White acrylic paint
Black acrylic paint
3 paint brushes
a pair of little hands and feet

Directions:
Cover one canvas with orange paint, the other with black paint
Let dry
Draw the spiderweb on the orange canvas (freehand)
Decorate black canvas as you’d like, polka dots were used here (make them with a q-tip)
Grab those little hands and feet, paint the sole or palm and steady stamp on the dried canvas frames

Presto! You’ve got yourself the cutest Halloween decorations on the block!
Check out this great door sign that works great for a whole family of spooks.
