WW: Pumpkin Bowling Game

on October 3, 2012

Hello Parents,

Well, it’s October already and that has us all thinking Halloween! Today’s Weekend Wednesday activity has a darling take on the halloween spooks and gets your kids learning a new sport, Bowling! We saw the idea on Pinterest and followed the link to Jeanetics. There was no how-to on the blog, so follow along as we identify the best way for you to play the spooky game with the kids, you’ll see it’s pretty simple – and  you probably have all the materials at home already.

Materials:

  • Round pumpkin with stem cut off (light enough for your kid to pick up)
  • Apple Corer
  • Six rolls of toilet paper
  • Black construction paper
  • Scissors
  • tape or glue

Instructions:

  1. With the apple corer make three holes in the pumpkin (for the finger hold)
  2. Cut the ghost faces out of the black construction paper and tape/glue them on the toilet paper
  3. Pile the toilet paper in a tower, as shown in the image above
  4. Have fun bowling!

With this fun game you can get the kids involved not only in knocking down the “pins” but also in piling them back up on each other.
